TARC Providing Extra Service to State Fair

TARC once again is
providing service between downtown Louisville and the Kentucky State Fair. The
special service will run all 10 days of the fair, Aug. 14-24.
Buses headed to the fair will
depart from the TARC stop at Fifth and Market Streets every 60-70 minutes from
6:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. The last bus from
the fairgrounds to downtown Louisville will leave at 11:58 p.m. daily.
Passengers should look for buses displaying the destination sign, “2 - State
fairgounds TARC stop will be on Circle of Champions opposite Broadbent Arena. State Fair complimentary trams will transport
TARC passengers to and from this stop to fair locations.
Additional TARC service
near the fairgrounds is available on Crittenden Drive (Route 2) and Preston
Highway (Route 18). Buses on those routes
do not enter the fairgrounds.
Regular TARC fares apply
on all trips. A one-way adult trip is $1.75, students ages 6-17 and seniors with
a TARC ID can ride for 80 cents and children 5 and under are free.
TARC trips do not include
admission to the fair, which is collected before the bus enters the
fairgrounds. Passengers are urged to have their admission ready prior to
entering the fairgrounds. Admission is $10 per adult, $6 for children ages 3-12
and seniors and ages 2 and under are free. Additionally, parking is $8 at the
fairgrounds - a fee that TARC riders avoid having to pay.
