student power plus card

All high school students are eligible to get a TARC Student ID card to ride TARC at the discounted rate of 75 cents.

Free Public Library Student Power Plus cards, which also serve as a TARC Student ID, are distributed by Jefferson County Public Schools and Archdiocese and private schools that choose to participate.

Students pay the discounted fare by showing their card to the bus driver after boarding. Returning students should use their previously issued Library Power Plus cards. The cards are valid until the anticipated graduation date indicated on the card.

Students whose schools do not participate in the Power Plus Card program can purchase a TARC Student ID card. Bring proof of high school registration and $3.00 to cover the cost of the ID to:

Until Library Power Plus cards are distributed by participating schools, a grace period will be in effect allowing students to ride at the discounted rate. After Nov.1, high school students without a Library Power Plus card or TARC Student ID card will be charged the regular fare of $1.50.

Middle and elementary school students are not required to have a card to ride at a reduced rate. The cards are required only for students in grades nine through 12.
