TARC Begins Annual Fare-Free Holiday Service for Amazon Employees

LOUISVILLE, KY. (October 16, 2020)

The Transit Authority of River City’s annual fare-free holiday service with Amazon is moving once again. This program provides fare-free rides to and from work during the holidays for Jeffersonville Amazon employees through January 15th, 2021. This includes service on TARC and TARC3.

An additional extended service for Route #71 will connect Indiana University Southeast to Amazon and run from November 14th through December 26th, 2020.

This service is provided through an agreement between TARC and Amazon, a major regional employer.

Holiday Service to Amazon

Effective Dates of Fare-Free Service for Amazon Employees: Now through Jan. 15, 2021

TARC Rt. #71 stops at Amazon, with added arrivals and departures on weekdays and on weekends designed around shift changes. All trips to and from Amazon stop at the Meijer on Allison Lane. Amazon employees ride fare free with proper ID

Effective Dates of Extended Service: Nov. 14th through December 26, 2020.

The route operates from Indiana University Southeast in Floyd County, crosses the river into downtown Louisville, and then heads back into Indiana and east to Amazon. There are connections to other TARC routes in downtown Louisville and Southern Indiana.

All TARC buses on Rt. #71 are equipped with bike racks and have free Wi-Fi available to passengers.
