TARC Announces Last Week to Exchange Paper Tickets for Electronic Fare, & Receive MyTARC Card at No Cost

Louisville, Ky. (March 22, 2019) – Friday, March 29th will be the last opportunity the public has to exchange their paper tickets and paper passes for equal value on their electronic fare cards; it will also be the last day passengers can pick up their MyTARC card at no cost when they load $5 or more in fare.

“MyTARC is a major piece of a larger effort to take our region into the next generation of transit service,” said Ferdinand L. Risco, TARC Interim Executive Director, “These exciting technological advancements in service delivery encourage economic development, and connect our neighborhoods through safe, comfortable, and reliable service.”

Customers who need to exchange paper fare products or pick up their MyTARC card can do so at TARC Union Station, 1000 West Broadway, Monday through Friday of next week from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

MyTARC fareboxes have been on all TARC buses since January 7. Paper tickets are no longer accepted as fare.

With MyTARC, passengers can reload fare to their card online, at the Nia Center, at Union Station, Broadway Food Mart and additional retail locations to be announced soon. Customers can also reload fare on board each bus.
