Section 5310 Grant Opportunity
June 3, 2026The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) will distribute grant funds from the Federal Section 5310 “Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities” grant program.
Eligible applicants must be a private non-profit organization, or a state or local governmental authority, or must have a transportation service contract with a public transit authority.
The grant funds are for vehicle purchases (and related costs)to provide transportation service that is planned, designed, and carried out to meet the special needs of seniors and/or individuals with disabilities when public transportation is insufficient, inappropriate, or unavailable.
The transportation service must be designed with the primary goal of meeting the transportation needs of seniors and/or individuals with disabilities.
It is not sufficient that seniors and individuals with disabilities are merely included (or assumed to be included) among the people who will benefit from the transportation service.
Most of the transportation service must be in the Louisville Urbanized Area (Jefferson County, Kentucky; parts of Bullitt and Oldham Counties in Kentucky; parts of Clark and Floyd Counties in Indiana).
