Downtown Transfer Center

The TARC Network features a temporary Downtown Transfer Center at Muhammad Ali Boulevard and 8th Street. This on‑street hub features bus bays, shelters, and clear wayfinding to help riders navigate downtown. All downtown routes meet here in a scheduled “pulse,” making transfers quick and easy—usually within 5–10 minutes. With timed connections, riders can travel across the Louisville region more efficiently, even on routes that run every 30–60 minutes. TARC is studying options for a permanent Downtown Transit Center, and updates will be shared as they become available.
