Molson Coors’ Free Rides program supports responsible celebrations throughout the metro region

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – May 1, 2023 – Molson Coors’ Free Rides program will sponsor fare-free rides on all Transit Authority of River City (TARC) bus and paratransit service on the two big race days beginning at 4 a.m. on Friday, May 5 until 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 7. Whether heading to Churchill Downs or traveling through Louisville, TARC service is available compliments of Molson Coors’ Blue Moon.

“This annual race is the oldest continuously running sports event in the nation, and Molson Coors is proud to continue our 13-year-long partnership with TARC to provide safe rides throughout the two days of festivities,” said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager, Molson Coors. “Our Free Rides program is a crucial part of our alcohol responsibility initiative, ensuring those celebrating the city’s favorite sporting pastime have a free option to get home safely.”

Over the course of its three-decade-old tradition, Molson Coors has provided more than 8 million free rides through partnerships with local mass transit. Louisville’s beloved horse race is just one of many events included in this year’s program, with free transportation also offered during St. Patrick’s Day, New Year’s Eve and other special occasions and sporting events throughout the country.

“Louisvillians and out-of-town guests alike look forward to this weekend all year long and we are excited to partner with Molson Coors for another activation of the Blue Moon Free Rides program,” said Carrie Butler, executive director, TARC. “TARC is proud of this partnership and thanks Molson Coors for its sponsorship of this weekendlong celebration. As always, TARC will be there to help individuals of all abilities travel to and from their destinations safely.”
