CALL FOR GRANT APPLICATIONS: Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities (Section 5310 Federal Program Funds)

The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) will award grant funds under the federal “Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Section 5310” grant program.

Eligible applicants must be: a private non-profit organization; or a state or local governmental authority; or an operator of shared-ride public transportation services.

These Section 5310 grant funds must be used for transportation projects that are planned, designed, and carried out to meet the special needs of seniors and/or individuals with disabilities when public transportation is insufficient, inappropriate, or unavailable.

The transportation project must be designed with the primary goal of meeting the transportation needs of seniors and/or individuals with disabilities. It is not sufficient that seniors and individuals with disabilities are merely included (or assumed to be included) among the people who will benefit from the project.

The majority of the transportation services provided must be within the Louisville Urbanized Area (Most of Jefferson County, KY;  parts of Bullitt and Oldham Counties in Kentucky; parts of Clark and Floyd Counties in Indiana).

To apply for this grant:

  1. Request an application form by sending an email with your name, organization, and phone number to: grant@ridetarc.org
  2. Fill out the application form and several required forms
  3. Attach the completed application form and required forms to an email and send the email to:  grant@ridetarc.org before the grant application deadline of 3:00 pm EDT Thursday June 27, 2024.
