Board of Directors

Seat available on TARC Board of Directors

September 29, 2022

A vacancy has become available on the TARC Board of Directors.

Chair John Launius has accepted a new position that will require him to resign from the Board of Directors, effective today. He has been named the Vice President, Director of Economic Development with One Southern Indiana, the state-recognized Local Economic Development Organization (LEDO) and Chamber of Commerce. In this role, he will be responsible for business retention, expansion, and attraction for Clark, Floyd, and Scott counties. His decision to resign was made to avoid any real or perceived conflicts related to his new position, which formally represents multiple jurisdictions within the region.

“John has been a tremendous asset to TARC throughout his tenure on the board, particularly in supporting TARC’s COVID response and providing sound fiscal and programmatic oversight during a time of reduced ridership and revenue,” said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. “I thank him for his service and wish him the best in this exciting new role with One Southern Indiana.”

The vacancy provides an opportunity for a community member to serve on TARC’s eight-person Board of Directors, which is responsible for managing, controlling, and conducting the business, activities, and affairs of TARC.
