TARC plans to hire 75 new employees by mid-year

With demand for flexible and reliable transportation on the rise across the metro area, TARC is aggressively recruiting candidates for immediate openings in its transportation and maintenance departments.

TARC looks to hire 50 new Coach Operators by June 30, 2022 to drive fixed route bus service. Qualified candidates will receive paid training to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Coach Operators earn $17.41 an hour starting pay and up to $24.00 per hour. No experience is necessary. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.

In addition, TARC plans to hire 10 to 15 experienced “A” Mechanics to service its fleet of more than 370 buses and support vehicles by mid-year. Starting hourly rate for “A” Mechanics is $25.01 Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have a minimum of three years of diesel mechanic experience or five years of automotive experience, and obtain and maintain Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement (CDL permit is acceptable if obtained prior to date of hire).

Candidates for both Coach Operator and “A” Mechanic positions must be eligible to work in the United States, hold a valid driver’s license with no moving violations in the past 24 months, have no convictions within the previous five years, and pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen.
