TARC offering the 2025 Summer Youth Pass

Passes available for purchase starting May 27

Louisville, KY (May 22, 2025) –TARC is pleased to once again offer Greater Louisville youth ages 6 to 19, unlimited travel throughout the summer with the Summer Youth Pass.

The pass will cover the cost of fare on all TARC routes from June 1 to August 31. Beginning Tuesday, May 27, local youth or their parents (for their child) will be able to purchase this year’s Summer Youth Pass for $30. A current MyTARC student-ID card is required. 

“The TARC Summer Youth Pass has offered children safe and convenient access to fun destinations for over 20 years,” said TARC Executive Director Ozzy Gibson. “School-age kids can visit friends and family, work summer jobs, and enjoy everything our city has to offer all summer long for only $30.”

The Summer Youth Pass will be available to load to MyTARC fare cards beginning May 27, but will only be accepted to ride TARC beginning June 1. In order to activate your Summer Youth Pass you must visit a TARC location, either Union Station (1000 West Broadway, Louisville, KY 40203) or the Nia Center (2901 West Broadway, Louisville, KY 40211). If you do not currently have a reloadable MyTARC student-ID card, you will need to purchase one at one of the two TARC locations listed above for an additional one-time set-up fee of $5. A photo will be taken for the card.
